Behind the Scenes of a Garage Project

Environmental projects in garages are often perceived as a technical matter: regulations, forms, and inspections. In practice, however, the core of the work lies in a thorough assessment of the alignment between on-site operations and the applicable regulatory requirements.

As part of a garage project we recently supported, a comprehensive professional review was conducted of active garage operations, as they take place on a day-to-day basis. The work included on-site visits, examination of operational areas and material storage zones, and a systematic comparison between existing conditions and the relevant environmental and regulatory requirements.

Within a short timeframe of less than two months, professional site visits were carried out at approximately 50 active garages.During these visits, compliance with various regulatory requirements imposed by the relevant regulatory authorities was assessed, and a comprehensive picture was developed reflecting actual on-site practices.

As is often the case, it became evident that there is not always full clarity regarding how routine operations are perceived from a regulatory perspective, and that gaps may exist between actual practices and the regulator’s interpretation of requirements and expectations.

The work focused on identifying gaps, clarifying requirements, and presenting a professional, structured, and data-based overview, serving as a foundation for understanding, decision-making, and preparation for next steps.

The project did not involve the immediate implementation of changes, but rather the review, clarification, and translation of regulatory requirements in relation to existing operations- enabling the relevant stakeholders to understand their current status, assess risks, and prepare in an informed manner for subsequent stages.

This is the type of work we carry out at Sutok:Professional assessment, intensive fieldwork, and a broad regulatory perspective- even in large-scale
