The next big thing in sustainable product design is creating electronics that have long lives (or at least don’t need to be replaced every 2-3 years) and that can be easily disposed of without harming the environment. For example, components like Lithium ion batteries can damage the environment and should not be thrown away in a regular garbage disposal bin as they have a high risk of causing fires.
