Can we soak up the gasses causing our world do excessively heat before they reach the ozone layer?

In todays world, Global Warming is off course an ever more pressing issue. Seeing as the apparent cause of this is the accumulation of greenhouse gasses in the ozone layer and considering the world we live in is more technilogucally advanced than ever before, why haven’t we yet been succesful in creating a method/technology for absorbing the main cause of this problem - the Greenhouse gasses?
