1. Describe the product you have chosen.
Enerkem takes carbon from garbage that can't be recycled and turns it into gas to make biofuels like methanol and ethanol.
2. Why do you consider it circular?
It's circular because Enerkem turns the huge amount of solid waste it generates every day into a huge amount of clean fuel and renewable green chemicals.
3. Which principles of CE models are being used?
Enerkem uses the sustainable product design principle in terms of materials by designing out waste/pollution.
4. What are the economic and environmental benefits?
For the environmental benefit, Enerkem uses 100,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste to produce about 38 million litres of biofuel per year. For economic benefit, Enerkem produces enough biofuel each year to supply 400,000 vehicles running on a 5% ethanol blend for a year.
5. Which one of the “5 business-models” does it belong to?
Waste to wealth system.

This is so cool to me because if you were to ask someone what the number one nonrecycable thing in the world is, they most probably would say garbage. Its awesome that we actually can get something from garbage and it doesnt only have to be thrown away as waste!
